MLB this Week: ESPN America double-headers

by Matt Smith

There are eight MLB games starting before midnight U.K. time this working week.

The week starts with a bonus early game as the White Sox and Royals make up their postponed game from Friday. The Royals have won the first two games of the series and will look for ‘Big Game’ James Shields to complete the sweep in an exciting pitching match-up with Chris Sale.

ESPN America is offering MLB double-headers on both Wednesday and Thursday evening.

The Mariners and Pirates aren’t featured a great deal on the channel so the first game on Wednesday offers the perfect opportunity to watch those teams, especially as it brings together Felix Hernandez and A.J. Burnett in a very promising encounter at the beautiful PNC Park

BBC 5 Live Sports Extra is scheduled to provide coverage of the Yankees-Rockies game from Coors Field on Thursday.

All times are in BST.

My wife and i are both big fans of baseball, and watch as many games as possible.
But my wife wants to know, why so many players like all the BEARDS, and scruffy hair.
ps. her fav.player ( Jeter, ) hope he is back soon.

Hi Mike. No idea on the beards and scruffy hair. Maybe the constant traveling leaves little time for personal grooming?!

Looks like it could still be a couple of months before Jeter is back. So far his teammates are doing a good job keeping the Yankees in the running.

I have to say the only yhing that continually bugs me is the constant spitting. It is so unnecessary and really off putting seeing it close up on tv. I wish mlb would cut it out.
