San Diego at Philadelphia (Harang &#8211; Lee)<\/p>\n<p>We have a Monday evening treat this week with Cliff Lee set to start for the Phillies in their day game against the Padres. Lee has been involved in two important mid-season trades. He&#8217;s going nowhere for a few years, but Aaron Harang has been mentioned as a potential trade target for teams keen on adding another starter to their rotation. A good performance here may make a team take a punt on him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday 26 July<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>No early games<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday 27 July<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>17.05. LA Angels at Cleveland (Santana &#8211; Huff)<br \/>\n18.05. Seattle at NY Yankees (Hernandez &#8211; Hughes)<br \/>\n19.10. Detroit at Chicago White Sox (Scherzer &#8211; Peavy) <strong>* ESPN America\u00c2\u00a0 <!--more--><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>King Felix is in New York this week, the Yankees need a starting pitcher, the trade deadline is approaching: we can all make 2+2=5 with that selection of facts.\u00c2\u00a0 The Yankees have been linked with Hernandez in the past for the obvious reason that he&#8217;s one of the outstanding pitchers in the Majors.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Mariners have had precious little to cheer this season, so a dominating start by Hernandez against the Yankees here\u00c2\u00a0&#8211; just to show them what they&#8217;re missing out on\u00c2\u00a0&#8211; would be a small fillip for them.\u00c2\u00a0 That&#8217;s if they definitely\u00c2\u00a0will be missing out on\u00c2\u00a0him though.\u00c2\u00a0 There&#8217;s a thought to get Mariners fans even more depressed.<\/p>\n<p>As for the ESPN America game, the Tigers are another team to be linked with various starting pitchers to complement their top three of Justin Verlander, Rick Porcello and Wednesday&#8217;s scheduled starter Max Scherzer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday 28 July<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>17.35. NY Mets at Cincinnati (Capuano &#8211; Bailey)<br \/>\n17.35. Florida at Washington (Hensley &#8211; Lannan)<br \/>\n18.05. LA Angels at Detroit (Pineiro &#8211; Penny)<br \/>\n18.35. Kansas City at Boston (Hochevar &#8211; Beckett) <strong>* ESPN America<br \/>\n<\/strong>19.10. Chicago Cubs at Milwaukee (Zambrano &#8211; Marcum)<br \/>\n20.35. Tampa Bay at Oakland (Davis &#8211; Harden)<br \/>\n20.35. Arizona at San Diego (Hudson &#8211; Latos)<\/p>\n<p>This is how &#8216;get-away&#8217; Thursday should be; plenty of early games and most of them include at least one team still firmly in the postseason race.<\/p>\n<p>The Reds started a ten-game homestand against the Braves last Friday and their game against the Mets on Thursday is the seventh in that run before a three-game set against the Giants.\u00c2\u00a0 They need to take advantage of some home comforts in a tight NL Central battle.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>One of their main opponents in that race are the Milwaukee Brewers. Shaun Marcum was one of the pieces added by the Brewers over the off-season to help push them into the play-offs.
