\"CovMLBUK2014\"<\/a>The first full week of May in the 2014 MLB season includes a number of interesting match-ups.<\/p>\n

Interleague games include the Windy City rivalry between the Chicago Cubs and White Sox, whilst the in-form Colorado Rockies<\/a> welcome the Texas Rangers to Coors Field for two games.<\/p>\n

The slumping Atlanta Braves have lost their last six games and will host the St. Louis Cardinals in a three-game series early this week. Also in the National League, the Los Angeles Dodgers travel to Washington for what should be a cracking series against the Nationals, the third and final game of which is one of eight contests that will start before midnight UK time this working week.<\/p>\n

The complete schedule of day-games for this working week is listed below, with all times in BST. Only one of these is being shown live on ESPN, unfortunately, and none of the early games have been chosen as an MLB.com Free Game of the Day, so you’ll need an MLB.TV subscription to watch or listen to the contests.<\/p>\n

17.35. San Francisco at Pittsburgh (Lincecum – Cole)
\n17.40. NY Mets at Miami (Wheeler – Koehler)
\n18.05. LA Dodgers at Washington (Haren – Strasburg)
\n18.10. Arizona at Milwaukee (Arroyo – Peralta)
\n20.35. Seattle at Oakland (Hernandez – Straily)
\n20.40. Kansas City at San Diego (Shields – Cashner)<\/p>\n

There should be some good starting pitchers on show on Wednesday, subject to postponements changing any plans, not least in Stephen Strasburg pitching against the Dodgers. The second game of the double-header between the Mariners and A’s is listed in some place for 23.35 although that is dependent on how long the first game takes so I’ve left that off the scheduled list. Whilst there are conflicting reports on which game Felix Hernandez will start, the opener seems most likely.<\/p>\n

Thursday 8 May<\/h2>\n

17.05. Minnesota at Cleveland (Correia – Masterson)
\n18.08. Houston at Detroit (Keuchel – Smyly) *ESPN<\/strong><\/p>\n

Justin Masterson has looked a bit more like his old self in his last couple of starts after beginning\u00c2\u00a0the season in indifferent form and he’ll look to carry on improving in a home start against the Twins. The Tigers’ Drew Smyly pitched seven score-less innings against the Kansas City Royals on Saturday.<\/p>\n
