will run throughout February, accompanied by our usual mix of news about MLB, British\/International baseball and much more besides.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"center;\"><span style=\"12.0pt;\">Both Joe and\u00c2\u00a0I are keen scorers and we first thought about dedicating a month to the topic mid-way through last year.\u00c2\u00a0 Joe provides the &#8216;official&#8217; perspective on the discipline, being one of just five Brits on the international scoring list, while I have been keeping score\u00c2\u00a0of ballgames as a fan since 2000 (which I guess means that I provide the &#8216;amateur&#8217; perspective).\u00c2\u00a0 <!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"center;\"><span style=\"12.0pt;\">The season is intended to appeal\u00c2\u00a0both to newcomers and and also to baseball fans\u00c2\u00a0who have already caught the scoring bug.\u00c2\u00a0 As part of the season we will:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"center;\"><span style=\"12.0pt;\">convince you why baseball fans should learn to keep score,<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"center;\"><span style=\"12.0pt;\">provide a comprehensive introduction to the discipline in the latest installment of the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/baseballgb.co.uk\/?page_id=363\">Baseball Basics for Brits<\/a><\/em> series, <\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"center;\"><span style=\"12.0pt;\">offer some <em>BaseballGB<\/em> scorecards that can be downloaded and used for free,<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"center;\"><span style=\"12.0pt;\">highlight various examples of completed scorecards (ranging from MLB games in 2008 to a British National final from 1962), introducing you to some of the scoring systems and scorecards out there,<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"center;\"><span style=\"12.0pt;\">explain some of the &#8216;fan&#8217; scoring systems as well as the International Baseball Federation (IBAF) method.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>continue our regular Friday lunchtime feature: &#8220;You are the scorer&#8221;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/baseballgb.co.uk\/?page_id=1890\">&#8216;Keeping Score Season&#8217;<\/a> page can be found via the blue bar under the main BGB logo.\u00c2\u00a0 This includes a provisional schedule of posts\/articles\u00c2\u00a0that will be updated as every new feature is published.\u00c2\u00a0 Once the season is over, the page will remain as a reference point for all of the content.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bill Frindall 1939-2009<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is a very sad coincidence that our &#8216;Keeping Score Season&#8217; should begin just days after the <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/sport1\/hi\/cricket\/7861363.stm\" target=\"_blank\">passing<\/a> of Bill Frindall.\u00c2\u00a0 More commonly known as &#8216;Bearders&#8217; or the &#8216;Bearded Wonder&#8217;, Bill joined the BBC Cricket Test Match Special team in 1966 as statistician and scorer.\u00c2\u00a0 He developed his own unique cricket scoring system\u00c2\u00a0and was by far the most well-known exponent and advocate for the activity.\u00c2\u00a0 We will be adding in a feature on cricket scoring later this month in his honour.<\/p>\n<p>We hope you enjoy following the &#8216;Keeping Score Season&#8217;
