\"CovMLBUK2014\"<\/a>There are only a handful of pre-midnight starts this working week in MLB.<\/p>\n

The three on Wednesday all have play-off implications.<\/p>\n

St Louis are trying to keep in the NL Wild Card race and will be hoping for a good series in Colorado before heading to Wrigley Field to take on the Cubs, with the opener of that series being a day-game on Friday.<\/p>\n

Houston are also in the Wild Card hunt, AL this time, and will want to take advantage of an Oakland team containing plenty of younger players trying to prove that they should be on the Major League roster in 2017.<\/p>\n

As for Toronto, they’re in the thick of a compelling play-off race in the AL East which could see three teams from that division making it through to the post-season. Seattle are just about hanging on to hopes of potentially snatching a Wild Card spot. Felix Hernandez has so far not made a play-off start in his career and he’ll be determined to try to keep the Mariners’ push moving forward with a strong effort against the Blue Jays.<\/p>\n

Don’t forget that whilst there are no early games on Thursday – and just one on Friday – there’s a good reason to give up some sleep on those nights with Great Britain being in action in the World Baseball Classic.<\/p>\n
