The stand out pitching match-up of the night on paper is Roy Halladay versus Josh Beckett at just after midnight.<\/p>\n Wednesday<\/strong> \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Four early games to enjoy, two from each league. In the Senior circuit, John Maine and the Mets take on the Reds with Tom Shearn scheduled to make his third Major League start at 17.35, while the Phillies and the Braves begin their latest battle at 18.05. In the American League, Scott Baker, after his near-perfect performance last time out, faces Fausto Carmona and the Indians at 18.10. Later on, the A’s and the Angels meet at 20.35 with Joe Blanton and Joe Saunders listed as the probable pitchers.<\/p>\n Thursday<\/strong> \u00e2\u20ac\u201c A surprisingly small number of games to choose from on the traditional get-away Thursday. \nMonday<\/strong> \u00e2\u20ac\u201c British fans are treated on the first day of the working week with ten games beginning before 22.00. Four games in particular stand out. Unsurprisingly, Pedro Martinez’s projected first start of the season will be the main focus of attention, although getting the win won’t be an easy task against Aaron Harang and the Reds (18.15). It’s the young pretender against the old master in New York as Felix Hernandez and the Mariners face Roger Clemens (18.05). At 19.05, the Astros and the Brewers send their aces to the mound (Oswalt and Sheets), while fifteen minutes later we get a re-match from last week as Johan Santana looks for revenge against C.C. Sabathia and the Indians. In the other games, you can see Carlos Zambrano (21.05), Greg Maddux (21.40) and the Netherlands’ Rick Vanden Hurk (18.05) amongst others.<\/p>\n
