{"id":258,"date":"2007-11-15T23:06:42","date_gmt":"2007-11-15T22:06:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/baseballgb.co.uk\/?p=258"},"modified":"2009-09-26T11:26:09","modified_gmt":"2009-09-26T10:26:09","slug":"peavys-award-confirmed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/baseballgb.co.uk\/?p=258","title":{"rendered":"Peavy&#8217;s award confirmed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To no great surprise, Jake Peavy has just been confirmed as the NL Cy Young award winner.\u00c2\u00a0 It was a unanimous decision, with all thirty-two voters placing the Padres&#8217; ace in first position.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Brandon Webb was second on thirty-one of the ballots, with the Reds&#8217; Aaron Harang getting one second-place vote (probably from one of the two voters from Cincinnati &#8211; not that this would just be a case of favouring the home player: Harang&#8217;s season was easy to overlook considering he was playing on such a poor team).<\/p>\n<p>That leaves two main awards still to be decided.\u00c2\u00a0 The AL MVP award winner will be announced on Monday, although I think we can all pencil A.
