We’re not overly blessed with day games this week, but the eight that are taking place should produce some good action.\u00c2\u00a0 San Francisco and Chicago are the main ports of call as we\u00c2\u00a0preview the games that will be taking place during the British evening\u00c2\u00a0over the\u00c2\u00a0working work.\u00c2\u00a0 All times are\u00c2\u00a0listed in BST.<\/p>\n

Monday
\n<\/strong>No early games today.\u00c2\u00a0 The big game of interest takes place in San Francisco (that’s not something I’ll be writing\u00c2\u00a0too often this season) as Randy Johnson is scheduled to make his first start since the end of June last year.\u00c2\u00a0 First pitch between the D-Backs and the Giants is set for 03.15 in the early hours of Tuesday morning.\u00c2\u00a0 (UPDATE: This game has been made free to view on MLB.tv, so if you’re awake …!)<\/p>\n

Tuesday
\n<\/strong>As for Tuesday itself, that brings us three early games to enjoy.\u00c2\u00a0 At 19.05, the Angels face the Rangers and the A’s take on the White Sox.\u00c2\u00a0 Dana Eveland looks to continue his excellent start to the season for Oakland, while Dustin Moseley continues his role as an emergency starter for the Halos.\u00c2\u00a0 The third early match-up is the\u00c2\u00a0second game in the aforementioned Arizona-San Francisco series where Micah Owings and Kevin Correia will take the mound from 21.35.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n

Wednesday
\n<\/strong>Just the one early game today, but it should be worth watching.\u00c2\u00a0 AT&T Park is the venue again (start time 20.45).\u00c2\u00a0 Arizona send their ace to the mound in the form of Brandon Webb (3-0, 2.14 ERA); the Giants counter with the man they are paying to be an ace:\u00c2\u00a0Barry Zito (0-3, 4.50 ERA).\u00c2\u00a0 Later on, after a two-day break it’s time for another Red Sox-Yankees series (00.05).\u00c2\u00a0 Chien-Ming Wang gave up just two hits the last time out against the Red Sox, so it promises to be a tough night for the Boston line-up.<\/p>\n

Thursday
\n<\/strong>The National League serves up three early games today.\u00c2\u00a0 The Astros face Brett Myers and the Phillies from 18.05, Manny Parra is scheduled to start for the Brewers against the Cardinals in the new Busch Stadium ten minutes later and the Reds face the Cubs at Wrigley from 19.20.<\/p>\n

Friday
\n<\/strong>It’s back to Wrigley Field for today’s lone early game.\u00c2\u00a0 This time, the Cubs take on the Pirates at 19.20.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
