however the two games on Wednesday will give you a baseball alternative to the Champions League final if you are looking for one.\u00c2\u00a0 All times are listed in BST.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday<\/strong><br \/>\nNo early games.\u00c2\u00a0 Among the later games, the Cubs take on the Astros, while the Royals&#8217; young starter Luke Hochever makes a start at Fenway against Jon Lester and the Red Sox (both 00.05).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday<br \/>\n<\/strong>There&#8217;s a double-header between the Mets and the Braves today, so we get an early game to enjoy.\u00c2\u00a0 Currently, Tom Glavine is scheduled to take the mound against his former team, with John Maine starting for the Mets.\u00c2\u00a0 First pitch is set for 18.00.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday<\/strong><br \/>\nTwo early games featuring the Bay Area rivals.\u00c2\u00a0 The Giants are in Colorado taking on the Rockies, with Jonathan Sanchez and Ubaldo Jimenez listed as the scheduled starters.\u00c2\u00a0 That game begins at 20.05 and half an hour later the action starts in Oakland as the A&#8217;s face Tampa Bay at the Coliseum.\u00c2\u00a0 The six-game winner Andy Sonnanstine (6-1 with a 4.53 ERA) takes on Dana Eveland.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday<\/strong><br \/>\nLast week we had a choice of nine early games on &#8216;get away&#8217; Thursday.\u00c2\u00a0 This week it&#8217;s only three, all coming from the American League.\u00c2\u00a0 We begin with a game between two teams that have really disappointed so far this season.\u00c2\u00a0 The Mariners and the Tigers meet at 18.05.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Five minutes later, the resurgent Rangers face Livan Hernandez and the Twins in the Metrodome.\u00c2\u00a0 The pick of the games starts at 18.35 though, as the finale of the Royals-Red Sox four-game series sees Daisuke Matsuzaka looking to improve his record to 8-0.\u00c2\u00a0 Later on, there&#8217;s a cracking game in prospect at Turner Field as Johan Santana and Tim Hudson square off from midnight.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday<\/strong><br \/>\nNo early games to end the week.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Five&#8217;s game on Wednesday night begins at 01.30, while NASN&#8217;s MLB schedule for the week can be found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nasn.com\/content\/nasn\/portal.nsf\/content\/index-mlb?open&amp;action=viewschedule\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We were a bit spoilt last week, with fourteen day games in the States providing us with plenty of live action during the evening here in Britain.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s a different story over the next five days, with only six games to look forward to;
