ended up with team &#8216;Y&#8217; without you realising it.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, MLB.com has put together a series of features designed to prepare fans for the season ahead.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In previous years they have published an \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcAround the Horn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 feature in which each team\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s MLB.com beat writer has written about a different position each week.\u00c2\u00a0 That was useful but it didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t provide a great overall preview of each team once Spring Training came around because rosters were liable to have changed as the series progressed.\u00c2\u00a0 They\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve abandoned the Around the Horn feature this year, although they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve stuck with the overall concept of devising standard column formats and then asking each beat writer to submit pieces for their team.\u00c2\u00a0 The three features published so far are: \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcA look ahead\u00e2\u20ac\u2122, \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcPreviews\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 and \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcQuick Hits\u00e2\u20ac\u2122.<\/p>\n<p>My favourite is the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcQuick hits\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 feature.\u00c2\u00a0 This poses and answers three key questions about the respective team, lists their projected starting line-up, rotation and main bullpen pitchers, and then provides a decent amount of detail on the team\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s main prospects and the players who have joined, left, or are rebounding from injury or poor performances in 2009.\u00c2\u00a0 If you want a quick and easy way to catch up on all of the thirty MLB teams, or if you are new to the sport, they are an excellent resource.<\/p>\n<p>There isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t a decent \u00e2\u20ac\u02dchome page\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 to link to (as far as I can tell), so instead I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll direct you to the <a href=\"http:\/\/baltimore.orioles.mlb.com\/news\/article.jsp?ymd=20100209&amp;content_id=8043194&amp;vkey=news_bal&amp;fext=.jsp&amp;c_id=bal#\" target=\"_blank\">Baltimore Orioles\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcQuick Hits\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 page<\/a> from which you can then look at all of the rest using the drop-down list.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week&#8217;s &#8216;Web Pick&#8217;
