{"id":7532,"date":"2010-04-11T12:09:54","date_gmt":"2010-04-11T11:09:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/baseballgb.co.uk\/?p=7532"},"modified":"2010-04-11T15:02:00","modified_gmt":"2010-04-11T14:02:00","slug":"sundays-early-mlb-games-follow-ccs-lead","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/baseballgb.co.uk\/?p=7532","title":{"rendered":"Sunday&#8217;s early MLB games: Follow CC&#8217;s lead"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-6302\" title=\"CovHlSq\" src=\"https:\/\/baseballgb.co.uk\/wp-content\/CovHlSq.jpg\" alt=\"CovHlSq\" width=\"220\" height=\"226\" \/>Yesterday\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s slate of \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcearly\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 MLB games produced high drama, with the New York Yankees\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 CC Sabathia going close to pitching a no-hitter against the Tampa Bay Rays.\u00c2\u00a0 Considering the pitchers on show, another no-hitter attempt or two could be on the cards today as well.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There are plenty of opportunities for Brits to follow the action as all but the ESPN Sunday Night Baseball game between the Cardinals and Brewers are being played during the day time in the States, making them perfect evening entertainment for us in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>Today\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s list of probable pitchers in the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcearly\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 games includes six starters who have thrown Major League no-hitters before: A.J. Burnett, Kevin Millwood, An\u00c3\u00adbal S\u00c3\u00a1nchez, Mark Buehrle X2, Justin Verlander and Clay Buchholz \u00e2\u20ac\u201c call it seven starters if you include Roy Oswalt\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s contribution to the combined six-pitcher effort by the Astros back in 2003.\u00c2\u00a0 Johan Santana, Roy Halladay and Tim Lincecum are all good bets to add a no-no to their considerable list of achievements at some point in the future, while the Blue Jays\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Shaun Marcum flirted with one in his last start.<\/p>\n<p>And for the biggest potential storyline, how about tipping the Reds\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Mike Leake to send a team home hitless?\u00c2\u00a0 Clay Buchholz threw his no-hitter in just his second start and Leake could better that today in not just his first Major League start, but his first ever start for a professional team (he was drafted last year and has made the MLB roster this spring without playing a single Minor League game).\u00c2\u00a0 <!--more--><\/p>\n<p><em>All times are listed in BST.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>18.05.
