British Baseball Beat: 2011 opening games

BBBThe 2011 British baseball season got underway on Sunday.  All but the AA-North division started out prior to this weekend’s Easter break, setting the opening agenda before we get right back to the action on Sunday 1 May.

The new British Baseball Federation (BBF) website provides a variety of ways in which you can catch up on all the Opening Day scores.  This includes some excellent division round-ups for the AA-Midlands, AAA-North and AAA-South.

Our focus this week is on the teams that are either new to the league or who have changed divisions over the offseason.

Contrasting fortunes for D-Backs and Nationals

There are two teams new to the National Baseball League (NBL) and they experienced mixed fortunes on Opening Day.

Lakenheath Diamondbacks couldn’t have hoped for a better start, winning both games of the ‘Battle of the Bases’ double-header against Mildenhall Bulldogs.  They were two close contests and the Bulldogs will already have 26 June circled on their schedule, eagerly awaiting a chance to turn the tables on their United States Army Air Force rivals.  Meanwhile at Finsbury Park, Southern Nationals suffered a pair of one-run defeats at the hands of the London Mets.

In fact, the main story from Opening Day in the NBL is that it looks like being an extremely competitive division.  The Essex Arrows gained a split against the reigning champion Richmond Flames, while Croydon Pirates let a 12-5 lead slip only to grab a 13-12 walk-off win to split a double-header with Bracknell. Southampton Mustangs opened their season with an impressive two-game sweep away to Herts Falcons, although the latter will be encouraged by their battling performance in the second game while coping with a long list of injuries.

Kings reign over Knights

In the AAA-South league, last year’s AA Champion Richmond Knights started life in the higher league with a double-header against the AAA Champion Oxford Kings.

The Kings wasted little time in imposing their authority on the newcomers, taking the opener 13-2 with the game being called after five innings. So ended the Knights’ regular season game winning streak at 20 games and they took the loss in the second game as well; however they recovered from an early 7-0 deficit to take the game to its full seven innings, eventually succumbing by a score of 14-6.  The Kings showed why they are considered the team to beat, but it shouldn’t be long before the Knights get another patented winning streak going.

While there are no new teams in the AAA-North, it’s certainly worth pointing out the double-header wins by Liverpool Trojans and Manchester A’s, over the Halton Jaguars and Menwith Hill Patriots respectively.   The Trojans’ 2011 goal is clear: win the AAA-North and then take the AAA title that so narrowly eluded them last year.  With the type of strong pitching that Martin Godsall and Rob Vondy showed against the Jags, they’ve got every chance of doing just that.  The question is whether any of their North or South rivals can stop them?

Bucks beat the Rebels, Mavericks slay the Dragons

In the AA-Midlands, the newcomer Nottingham Rebels faced a similar fate to that of the Southern Nationals and Richmond Knights.  They lost both games to an established rival, in the Rebels’ case the Milton Kenyes Bucks, but showed they are more than worth their place in the division and that they have plenty of potential.

The same can be stated for the Essex Redbacks 2 in the AA-South.  They were involved in one of the top games on Opening Day, leading the Brentwood Stags 7-3 heading into the seventh inning only to suffer a heartbreaking 9-8 loss with the Stags scoring three times in the bottom of the ninth for a walk-off win.

Guildford Mavericks took an 11-5 debut win in the AA-South against the Richmond Dragons.  The Mavericks’ pitcher Kevin Zanes recovered from conceding three runs in the first inning to limit the Dragons to only two more runs the rest of the way.  The offence did the rest, with third baseman James Guerra leading the way with five RBIs.

Regal start for Royals

The Cambridge Royals celebrated their return to the British leagues in A-South with a comprehensive 33-5 win over Herts Raptors.  The Royals’ next scheduled game is due to mark the return of baseball to Cambridge’s Coldham’s Common; however their opponents, Tonbridge, had to forfeit their opening contest due to a lack of players so we await confirmation that the game will go ahead as planned.

Tonbridge were scheduled to face the other A-South newcomers, the Guildford Mavericks 2, on Sunday.  Both teams were keen to get their seasons underway so they did play a game with the Mavericks lending Tonbridge a few players and coming out on top by a final score of 16-8.  It goes into the BBF books as a 9-0 forfeit in favour of the Mavericks 2, meaning a winning start for the new team, but it was good to see the teams enjoying a game regardless of the official outcome already being known.

Don’t miss our BSUK podcast

Following Opening Day, Joe Gray and I spent some time chatting to BSUK’s Jason Greenberg about the 2011 BBF League structure, our opinions on the new BBF website, and offered some thoughts on teams and players to keep an eye out for during the season ahead.  Why not take a listen to the podcast?

British Baseball Beat: 2011 Opening Day is nearly here

BBBAt last!  The 2011 British Baseball season is nearly upon us.

The curtain came down on the 2010 season at the National Baseball Championships on 5 September last year.  Ever since, teams have been waiting for another season to arrive, either to continue improving after promising years, making amends for near misses or to get that winning feeling once again.

Last weekend saw the climax of the Herts Spring League played out in glorious weather.  A pessimist would think that the sunshine was mocking the baseball community, setting us up for a rain-fest over the opening weekend proper.

Thankfully the current weather forecast suggests that most areas should be fine, if not sun-drenched, to get their seasons underway as planned.

Here’s a quick guide to the top games to look forward to this Sunday.

National Baseball League

The Richmond Flames enter the season as the reigning National Baseball League champions after their stunning victory at last year’s National Baseball Championship.  The Flames have started their 2011 season well by winning the Herts Spring League on Sunday with a 6-5 victory over the Southern Nationals.  They will get their 2011 regular season underway with a double-header on the road against the Essex Arrows, who have had some bad luck with injuries in recent weeks.

The newcomer Nationals start with a trip to Finsbury Park to take on the London Mets, while the other new team, Lakenheath Diamondbacks, begin their season with a double-header against Mildenhall Bulldogs.  There will be plenty of bragging rights on the line in that all-United States Army Air Force clash.

Croydon Pirates host the Bracknell Blazers and Herts Falcons welcome Southampton Mustangs to Grovehill Ballpark in Hemel Hempstead.

AAA

Liverpool Trojans had a great 2010 but fell agonizingly short of their goal by losing the AAA Final against Oxford Kings.  They will try to make amends this year and begin their season by hosting the Halton Jaguars at Bootle Stadium.  Meanwhile the Oxford Kings start the defence of their title against AAA South newcomers the Richmond Knights.

The Knights had a season for the ages in 2010, winning 20 straight regular season games after dropping their season opener and going on to win the AA title.  They will want to get off to a good start to prove they belong in the higher league, although after last year they probably will not be too worried if they lose the opening game.

AA

There has been a host of changes in the AA South, with five new teams compared to the 2010 lineup ensuring that this will be a very interesting opening weekend in that league.  However, the standout battle in AA comes in the Midlands where two familiar foes have been thrown together from the off.  The Leicester Blue Sox and Birmingham Maple Leafs continue their rivalry with a double-header at the former’s Western Park.

It’s been agreed that the AA-North will start their season on 1 May to allow some extra time to iron out a few scheduling issues.

A

Guildford Mavericks II host Tonbridge, while the Cambridge Royals return to the British league with a road trip against Herts Raptors. Braintree Rays travel to Enfield to face the Old Timers and London Marauders are off to Southampton to take on the Mustangs II.

Good luck to all the teams.

BBF’s new website

You can see the full schedule of games, and plenty more besides, on the BBF’s fantastic new website.   The old site worked fine, but was undoubtedly in need of a makeover and instead of splashing some paint on the walls and fixing a few odds and ends, they’ve moved into a brand new house.  In fact, three distinctive new houses for the BBF, the British Softball Federation and the overarching BaseballSoftballUK.

A lot of hard work has gone into getting these sites planned, designed and launched. First impressions are that they look great and include all the functionality that will make them excellent resources for players, coaches, fans and newcomers looking to get involved in baseball and softball.  Congratulations to the BSUK’s Jason Greenberg and everyone else involved in the project.

British baseball on Twitter

The Essex Redbacks’ Michael Jones recently brought up a good idea on agreeing some common Twitter hashtags to help link British baseball news.  #bbfscore was a suggestion for results and in-game updates, possibly including the league level as well (#bbfnblscore, #bbfaaascore etc).  If you have any other ideas, please pass them on via the Comments section below.  Stats relating to the NBL will be posted by Joe Gray on the @NBLstatsfeed feed.

I’ve created a British Baseball list on Twitter that you can follow.  There are 23 Twitter accounts linked to it so far, including club Twitter feeds and individuals involved in the sport.  If you know of any others that are not included, or if you want to be added to the list, please pass on the details via the Comments function.

British Baseball Beat: BBF league structure announced and a baseball field emerges in Cambridge

BBBThe 2011 Major League Baseball season has just got underway, but we’ve still got a few weeks before the British baseball season begins.

Sunday 17 April is Opening Day in the UK and preparations are in full swing so that everyone and everything is ready for another great year when the first pitches are thrown that day.

Over the last week, the British Baseball Federation has released the league structure for the season ahead, Spring Training was turned up a notch in the Herts Spring League, and one more baseball field has emerged on an unsuspecting British public.

BBF League structure for 2011

The British Baseball Federation published details of the league structure for 2011 on Friday.  The BBF website provides the following overview:

51 adult teams will play at four levels and in ten divisions during the 2011 season.

The flagship National Baseball League has expanded again this year, to ten teams and two divisions.

The AAA level will have North and South divisions, with four teams in the North and six in the South.

At AA level, there will be North and Midlands divisions with five teams each and two South divisions with seven teams in one and six in the other.

At A level, there will be two divisions, both in the South, and both with four teams each.

There have been a number of changes relating to the teams, be it existing teams moving to different leagues, new teams joining the leagues and a few teams disbanding.

The expansion of the NBL is the product of two new teams entering British baseball at the top-tier. The Lakenheath Diamondbacks and the Southern Nationals are the newcomers, although both have experienced members involved and are fully expected to merit their ambitious introduction to the sport.

Glasgow and Harrogate bow out as the AAA (North) reduces to four teams, while the loss of the Herts Eagles and Kent Mariners (the latter struggled to field a team regularly in 2010 and have moved down to the AA South) from the AAA (South) has been partly balanced by the promotion of the AA Champion Richmond Knights.

In the AA Midlands, Mildenhall Bulldogs didn’t find it easy to field two teams in 2010, so they will concentrate on the NBL rather than field a Bulldogs 2 team in the Midlands as well.  In their place comes a new Nottingham Rebels team, while credit should go to the Leicester Blue Sox for fielding two teams in the league once again.

There are five newcomers in the AA South.  The Guildford Mavericks and Richmond Dragons have been promoted from the A South, Kent Mariners have taken a step down from AAA, the Essex Redbacks club are making great progress by fielding a second team in their second year to accompany their AAA outfit, and there is a new club called Latin Boys. Horsham’s introduction to adult baseball didn’t go to plan and they have withdrawn after one season, but hopefully they’ll be back in the future.

The Cambridge Royals will begin their new chapter in the A-South, with the Guildford Mavericks maintaining a presence in the division after their promotion by adding a second team. Chelmsford Clippers have disbanded after an entertaining 2011.

The fixture lists for each league should be released on the BBF website soon.

Herts Spring League update

Herts Falcons, Richmond Flames, Southern Nationals, Sidewinders, Essex Redbacks II and Milton Keynes Bucks all got off to perfect starts in the first weekend of the 2011 Herts Spring League.  A full round-up from the first round of games can be found on the Herts website.

Games in Round 2 are being staged at the Essex Arrows’ Town Mead field and Herts’ Grovehill Ballpark this weekend. The Minors take centre stage on Saturday and the Majors on Sunday, with the full schedule listed on the HSL website.

A baseball field emerges in Cambridge

CamField1

Teams are not just preparing the players for the coming season, they are preparing the ballfields as well.

There’s something gloriously idiosyncratic about baseball fields in Britain.  Visitors to this website will not need reminding that the sport does have a long history in the UK, but it’s a hidden history to the vast majority of people.  With so few knowing that baseball is played and enjoyed here by many enthusiasts, the fields and diamonds are symbolic landmarks of the sport’s existence.

Their impact is all the more pronounced when a new field emerges seemingly from nowhere.  Last Sunday afternoon, several dog walkers on Coldham’s Common in Cambridge were eyeing an area suspiciously as if a crop circle had suddenly appeared.  Instead, it was the newly-appointed home of the Cambridge Royals, who will join the British A-League this year.

It’s a standard set up familiar to all in British baseball.  This part of the Common (not the actual cow-grazing common part, opposing players will be glad to know) is a large grass area just outside the city centre, predominantly taken up by football pitches.  Alongside this now are two slices of Americana with a British spirit: a gridiron field and the Royal’s field.

 CamField2

The pitching mound is in place, there’s a cut-out dirt area at home and the lines are painted on the grass.  All that’s needed now is for the games to begin and that day is quickly approaching.

British Baseball Beat: Southern Senior League Commissioner resigns

bbbHlsqThe 2010 British baseball season has ended on a very disappointing note after Aspi Dimitrov resigned from his position as Southern Senior League Commissioner today.

Dimitrov took on the role two years ago on top of his commitments with Herts Baseball Club.  He has been instrumental in taking some of the progressive thinking displayed at Herts and applying it more widely within the British Baseball Federation (BBF).  In particular, Dimitrov was at the forefront of an effort to generate much-needed income and commercial opportunities for the sport, while also pushing forward plans to promote baseball through the media.

In his resignation letter, Dimitrov stated that many of the clubs have been “fantastic in embracing the new more commercial approach”; however there have been some exceptions and there is clear frustration on Dimitrov’s part that his work has not being given due support from the BBF Board.

“From the very beginning, the more commercial approach was relying on the BBF Board being a very efficient and proactive operation. At present, the environment and conditions at BBF Board level are not conducive for adopting this more commercial approach”, said Dimitrov.

The impact of the resignation was made all the clearer as it was accompanied by Dimitrov’s Southern Senior League Commissioner Annual Report for January-September 2010.  The report highlights the progress that has been made over the period, such as the growing number of teams and the media exposure the sport has obtained, while also pointing out some of the problems that were encountered, most notably the “numerous ultimatums and threats of industrial action from ABUA-GB [Amateur Baseball Umpires Association – Great Britain]”.  It also suggests improvements for the future, such as possible ways in which the postseason structure could be revised.

In his resignation letter, Dimitrov was still keen to emphasise “the very positive steps made by British Baseball in the last year or two”, adding that “the next Southern Senior League Commissioner will come into a position with enormous potential for further development”.

The question then, of course, is where the BBF Board will recruit the next Southern commissioner from?  Dimitrov’s resignation has been preceded by several BBF Board members resigning from their posts over the past eighteen months.  The sport cannot afford to keep on losing dedicated individuals from its leading Board if there is to be a genuine period of sustained growth over the years ahead.

Thankfully Dimitrov still intends to be an active member of the British baseball community despite his resignation from his Commissioner role, stating: “it goes without saying that I am very keen to continue to support British Baseball regardless of whether it is in a Board or non-Board capacity”.

British Baseball Beat: Another first for Herts

bbbHlsqHerts Baseball Club will be notching up another first this evening.  They will become the first British baseball team to start their own online TV channel.

The Herts Baseball Channel launches at 20.00 BST today with live coverage of the organization’s 2010 Hunlock Series draft.

The Hunlock Series is the club’s end-of-season event where players from all of their teams are drafted for an intra-club competition.  Two years ago, an audio version of the draft was broadcast online and now they are moving up to a TV stream instead.

The idea that people will be able to listen to live broadcasts of British baseball club drafts is exciting enough, but it’s clear that this is only the beginning of Herts’ plans, as Club president Aspi Dimitrov explains:

“We now have the ability to televise live or on-demand talk shows, fan phone-ins, player interviews, game highlights, pre-game build up and post-game analysis, and this will have a very positive effect on all Herts Baseball operations.’ He added: ‘We can even stream live games from our own ballpark and this can be done by adopting the same methods used by ESPN and FOX when they show live MLB games.  For example, we can televise a Herts Falcons game live with 10 or more different cameras located in different parts of the ballpark and the various video feeds can be mixed to deliver coverage of the highest quality”

You certainly cannot fault Herts for a lack of ambition.

For the foreseeable future, nothing will beat the traditional methods of local promotion for making people aware of baseball in this country and whether there is a team nearby.  However, the Internet does open up a whole world of opportunities that British baseball can take advantage of.

Even a simple club website and Facebook entry can be helpful in recruiting new players.  Interactive features like the recent live scoring of the National Baseball Championships then serve a double purpose, firstly in providing another way for current fans to take an active interest in the domestic game regardless of their location, and secondly in giving out a professional, well-organized image to newcomers or potential new recruits.

The idea of streaming British baseball games live online might seem a bit fanciful, and I’m sure it is likely to be some way off in practice, but it shows what is possible.  There’s certainly nothing wrong in setting high goals and the possibility of action from a future NBC being streamed live online is surely something to get behind.

If you know of any other innovative ideas being taken forward in British baseball, please let us know.

A Brief British Baseball Beat

bbbHlsqWith the National Baseball Championships settled more than a week ago, there’s not a great deal of news to report from the British Baseball scene.

In fact, last week’s column will probably be the last weekly full-length edition for 2010, but I’m sure I’ll do a round-up column or two later in the year, while adding in shorter posts to cover any news about offseason changes and 2011 plans.

Youth Baseball Championships

The main newsworthy event of the last seven days has been the youth championship qualifiers that were played over the 11-12 September weekend.

As reported on the BBF website, London Mets Bronco and Herts All Stars qualified in the Bronco section, while Cobham Cougars and London Mets Pony made it through to the Pony section.  Full details of the games involving the Herts All Star team can be found on the Herts Baseball website.

Those four teams will compete alongside Cartmel Valley, Manchester Saints, Polecats Bronco and Polecats Pony in the National Youth Baseball Championships at the John Mills Ballpark in Halton ballpark this coming weekend.  The BBF will be using the GameChanger live scoring service, so the action can be followed as it happens or you can read all the stats once the games have been completed.

Good luck to all involved.

Hit the Pitch

Reading about the efforts to get youngsters playing baseball has reminded me to promote the developing ‘Hit the Pitch’ website produced by BaseballSoftballUK.

The ‘Hit the Pitch’ programme is designed to offer an accessible and easy way to introduce people to baseball and softball:

“At the core of this project are easy to access, flexible pick-up sessions where new participants and those eager to get back into the game can pitch up and start playing – no strings attached.Although there are opportunities to play in clubs and leagues across the country, Hit the Pitch programmes have been set up to be flexible and easy to access. There are no club committees, no heavy membership fees and no long trips to away games, ideal for you and a group of friends or colleagues eager to have fun, get fit and try something new”.

The website as a whole will be a hub for the baseball/softball community and provide resources and information for anyone who wants to get involved in either sport.

BBB Update

One of my pre-Xmas offseason projects is to collect all this year’s BBB columns together in one volume, most likely a pdf (thanks to Joe for the idea).  I’ll be adding in some of the comments that many of you kindly contributed, where they gave updates and a bit more information about the topics covered in each column.  Hopefully I’ll be able to include some photos and additional commentary along the way as well.

It should make for quite a neat record of the 2010 season and I’ll post more details about it later in the year.

British Baseball Beat: Reflecting on the NBC

bbbHlsqAs the equipment was packed away at Grovehill Ballpark on Sunday evening, so another British baseball season was brought to a close.  There is still some baseball to be played, not least in the youth qualifiers this coming weekend, but the marquee competitions at adult level have now all been decided.

A brief round-up of the results was provided here on Sunday evening and Simon Fitzjohn has written a comprehensive report of all of the action from the weekend on the BBF website.  That leaves me to reflect back on what happened.

The winners

It’s difficult to write about ‘surprise’ winners from the NBC simply because all of the teams had played well during the regular season just to make it to the finals.

However, if I had to pick a surprise winner from the day then it would have to be the National Baseball League champions: the Richmond Flames.  They finished third in the NBL regular season, so it was not unfair to peg them, alongside Southampton Mustangs, as the underdogs in comparison to the league-winning London Mets and last year’s NBC winners, the Bracknell Blazers.

That was before the Flames beat both the Blazers and the Mets on Saturday to be the first team to qualify for the final. While the Blazers showed last year that they could lose their opener and still win the event, repeating the feat in 2010 was asking for a little too much and the veteran Cody Cain’s MVP performance led the Flames to a deserved championship.  Continue reading →

British Baseball Beat: National Baseball Championships preview

bbbHlsqThe National Baseball Championships, British baseball’s premiere event, takes place this weekend at Grovehill Ballpark in Hemel Hempstead.

It is both a cause for joy and a cause for sorrow.  Everything has been building to this point and four teams will come away from the tournament jubilant at their triumphant ends to the season.  The rest will be left with the disappointment of getting so close and just falling short, while we’ll all bemoan the fact that another season has come to an end.

National Baseball League

The London Mets and Bracknell Blazers will be joined by Richmond Flames and Southampton Mustangs at the NBC after they made it through the NBL playoffs on Saturday at the former’s Connare Field.

The third-placed Flames made sure they didn’t slip up at the last by earning a 10-2 win over Croydon Pirates.  The Pirates went 0-24 in 2009 so making it to the playoff stage this year was a notable comeback by an organization that was a fixture in the British final between 2004 and 2007.

The Pirates’ return to respectability was trumped by Southampton Mustangs who have made it to the NBC at their first attempt in the top tier thanks to a 11-7 win over Mildenhall Bulldogs.  The Bulldogs were seen as a real threat to the Mustangs, but Southampton made sure that their fourth-placed finish in the league would not be un-done by a playoff loss.  Further reaction can be found in Simon Fitzjohn’s report.

The results mean that the NBC will be contested by the top four teams from the regular season and while the Mets and Blazers would be favourites to repeat their final from last year, the Flames and Mustangs should not be discounted from causing an upset.  Continue reading →

British Baseball Beat: The playoffs begin

bbbHlsqThe 2010 regular season came to an end on Sunday as the final playoff place in the National Baseball League was decided and the final games in the AAA  North and South were played.

However, we start in the AA and A leagues as they got the 2010 postseason underway on Saturday and Sunday.

AA: Blue Sox and Maple Leafs to meet again, Knights face Piranhas in the South

We’re set for a repeat of the great Midlands title decider from just three weeks ago this Sunday, after Leicester Blue Sox and Birmingham Maple Leafs won their first-round playoffs against Northern opposition.

The Blue Sox beat Sheffield Bladerunners 19-9, while the Maple Leafs just fell short of equalling their rival’s scoring exploits as they picked up an 18-1 victory over Bolton Robots of Doom.  Western Park will once again be the venue as these two great rivals are set to collide following the double-header split on 8 August. The Blue Sox won the Midlands league title that day, but the Maple Leafs won the second game and both matches were decided by just a single run.  These are two even sides who know each other well and there’s a bit of spice between them, so it should be a belter of a game.  Get down to Western Park in Leicester if you can for first pitch at 12pm this Saturday.

There were no surprises in the Southern section of the AA playoffs.  Pool A winners Poole Piranhas defeated Essex Archers 17-3 and Pool B winners Richmond Knights extended their winning streak to 18 games with a 10-6 victory over Windsor Bears.  The Knights took two comfortable victories over the Piranhas when they met for a double-header on 1 August, but anything can happen in a single-game showdown and Richmond will not be taking Poole lightly when they meet on Saturday.  Continue reading →

British Baseball Beat: League titles for Liverpool and Bolton

bbbHlsqThere were celebrations this week as a pair of teams wrapped up their league titles, while others made sure of a playoff spot in the British Baseball Federation 2010 season competition.

National Baseball League: Falcons and Bulldogs set for a showdown

Baseball schedules have an uncanny knack of setting up thrilling finales and that’s going to be the case this Sunday in the NBL.  Five of the six playoff qualifiers are now known, but there is one place still up for grabs after Mildenhall Bulldogs (8-16) swept a double-header against Southampton Mustangs (13-15) and Herts Falcons (9-17) could only manage a split against Essex Arrows (4-24).

The Arrows will be extremely pleased to have added a fourth win to their final record in what has been a challenging first year in the top-tier and they did it in style by turning around a 3-2 deficit into a 7-3 victory in the final inning.  A great comeback for one team is a devastating blow for the other, so credit Jason Greenberg’s men for showing ‘bouncebackability’ and winning the second game 15-4.

Those results set up a playoff decider at RAF Feltwell this weekend between the Bulldogs and Falcons.  A sweep for the home team will see them jump over Herts to claim the final playoff place, while the Falcons need just one win to hold off the Bulldogs’ challenge. The teams that finish 3rd to 6th will meet in an NBL playoff day and that will take place at Richmond’s Connare Field after the Flames (15-11)earned a split with the league-leading London Mets (24-4) to secure third place in the standings.  Second placed Bracknell Blazers (21-3) won two games against Croydon Pirates (10-18).  Reaction from the games can be found in Simon Fitzjohn’s report.  Continue reading →
