MLB.TV schedule for the week

by Matt Smith

Three days out of five isn’t bad. Those of you wanting to catch some live baseball in the British evening, either on MLB.TV or Gameday Audio, have a fair amount of choice on Monday and Wednesday while Carlos Zambrano gives you an excuse to miss the “wonder” of an England football friendly on Friday. All times are listed in BST.

Monday – Some live British evening baseball to finish the Bank Holiday weekend. There are five live games to choose from on Memorial Day in America starting before midnight, with the top pitching match-up being Jose Contreras taking on Johan Santana starting at 19.10. The other games are the Bucs against the Reds (18.15), the Braves against the Brew Crew (19.05), the Marlins against the Cubs (19.20), and the Cards against the Rockies (20.05).

Tuesday – No games at a convenient time. Josh Beckett is expected to make his return for the Red Sox against the Tribe at just after midnight while Jason Jennings should also make his first start since 8 April for the Astros against the Reds an hour later. Tim Lincecum pitches at Shea from 00.10.

Wednesday – Tim Hudson faces Dave Bush and the Brewers at 18.05 with Jon Garland and Scott Baker starting five minutes later for the White Sox and the Twins respectively. The Rangers and the A’s compete in an AL West match-up at 20.35.

Thursday – The standard “getaway day” does not bring us any live baseball during the British evening. Roy Halladay is slated to make an early return from the DL against the White Sox at 00.07, while in the National League Matt Cain and the Giants finish their series against Orlando Hernandez and the Mets with first pitch at 00.10.

Friday– The first day of June brings us a Carlos Zamrbano start against the Braves at Wrigley, for anyone staying in and wanting to avoid the England friendly. First pitch is scheduled for 19.20.

NASN’s MLB schedule can be found here . Due to the Stanley Cup, there will be no Wednesday night baseball on Five this week (and possibly next week as well).
