Jesmond, who topped the standings in the regular season, were knocked out 8-2 by the Slugs, who were a steal away from an offensive sweep. Duda had a three-homer week and drove in 12, Joey bats also hit three dingers and Piscotty homered twice and drove in seven. Price struck out 13 while Boxberger had three saves and Soria collected a trio of holds. Carrasco and Rich Hill salvaged ERA and WHIP for Jesmond, who must be congratulated on a fine season and a team name which still makes me laugh.

The Riverkings are also through to the final, having defeated Norwich 8-3, with the victors again a steal away from an offensive sweep. Khris Davis hit four homers and knocked in seven, Choo scored seven times and drove in eight and joined Bogaerts and Dozier in taking average and OPS. Ervin Santana led the staff with 12 strikeouts and helped take ERA while Madson had the lone hold. Iwakuma and Syndergaard helped Norwich take WHIP, while Kimbrel had two wins and Miller and Jansen had two saves each.

In the consolation playoffs, the Knights rebounded from last week’s disappointment by defeating Iron Men 7-4, again dominating the offensive categories. Correa hit three homers and drove in eight, while Donaldson and Betts each scored eight runs. Josh, Pujols and CarGo each went deep twice and Blackmon stole three bases. Gregerson and Street had two saves each while Liriano and Gio Gonzalez each struck out nine. An injury-depleted Iron Men took average thanks to Marte while Keuchel had two wins and teamed with Cole to take ERA and WHIP.

Finally, the Sox booked a place in the consolation final after defeating Batteries Essential 7-5. Verlander (eight strikeouts), Smyly and Lynn each had wins and helped take ERA, while Betances had four holds and Robertson the lone save. Goldschmidt scored five runs and teamed with Cespedes, Dee Gordon and Cain to take average. For Batteries essential, Martin hit two homers and Fielder knocked in seven. Dickey, Bumgarner and Colon helped take WHIP.
