BaseballGB fantasy league now open!

by Mark George

BgbFantasyHello all,

As the title of this blog suggests, you can now join the FREE BaseballGB fantasy league if you would like to pit your wits against Matt, Joe, myself and other site regulars.

It doesn’t matter if you are an experienced fantasy baseball player or a beginner – all we ask is that you’re committed so we can all enjoy a high quality league!

We have already had a fantastic response to this league, so if you are interested in joining, don’t delay. You can email me at baseballfeedback@yahoo.co.uk and I’ll send you everything you need to enter.

As mentioned in my previous fantasy blogs, we’re aiming to get an even number of players so we can do a head to head league – for example my team plays Matt’s one week before facing off against another manager like Joe the following week.

There are 12 scoring categories we will be using:

For hitters:

  • batting average (AVG)
  • runs (R)
  • home runs (HR)
  • runs batted in (RBI)
  • stolen bases (SB)
  • on base percentage plus slugging percentage (OPS)

For pitchers:

  • wins (W)
  • saves (SV)
  • holds (H)
  • strikeouts (K)
  • earned run average (ERA)
  • walks and hits per inning pitched (WHIP)

Each team needs to field:

  • 1 catcher
  • 1 1st baseman
  • 1 2nd baseman
  • 1 shortstop
  • 1 3rd baseman
  • 1 centre fielder
  • 2 other outfielders – can be centrefielders as well if you want
  • 1 utility batter – any position

For pitchers there will be six slots you can use a day:

  • 2 starting pitchers
  • 2 relief pitchers
  • 2 slots for whatever sort of pitcher you want, starters or relievers

You will also have five bench spots which can be used on any combination of hitters and pitchers you like, and the DL spots where you can put injured players.

Still interested? Then email baseballfeedback@yahoo.co.uk and you can be a part of the BaseballGB league!
