There was plenty of offense in week 11 of the BaseballGB fantasy league. Which teams were knocking the cover off the ball and which teams were left wincing at their ERAs?
|The Cheddar Chasers||39||10||21||8||.278||.805||3||5||63||0||3.72||1.20||10|
The Chasers were the week’s biggest winners, shutting out Batteries Essential 10-0 with an offensive sweep. Haniger (who knocked in six) and Solarte hit three homers each while Goldschmidt continued his revival with six runs and a .357 average. Cain also scored six times, hit .364 and swiped three bases while Dee Gordon hit .367. Greene had four saves while Taillon helped take ERA and WHIP and Nola struck out 14. Sale, Verlander and Godley picked up wins for Batteries Essential, while Herrera may not see as many save chances now he has been traded to Washington.
|Norwich No II||44||13||24||4||.261||.865||2||3||45||6||4.65||1.35||10|
Norwich also hit double digits, beating the Riverkings 10-2. An offensive sweep was powered by Rosario (nine runs, .400 average, one steal) and Story (seven RBIs) while Freeman and Khris Davis hit three homers each. Flaherty picked up a win, 13 strikeouts and posted a sub-1.00 ERA while Kelly and Ottavino had two holds each. Stratton and Kluber helped the Riverkings salvage WHIP while Chapman had three saves in a busy week for the closers.
Yet another offensive sweep saw the Isotopes defeat the Sox 9-3. Realmuto was the star of the show, leading the team with eight runs, three homers, six RBIs and a .370 average. Morton picked up a win and struck out nine while Colome had two holds. Vizacino had four saves for a skeleton Sox pitching staff while De Grom helped take ERA and WHIP. Honourable mention to Gattis for his four homers and 15 RBIs.
The Maltsters defeated the RBIs 9-3 and, wouldn’t you know, also completed an offensive sweep. Cruz hit four homers and knocked in seven, while Pham scored six runs, Devers swiped two bases and Marwin Gonzalez batted .529 for the week. On the mound, Bauer, Bundy and Musgrove each struck out 12 while Kimbrel and Jansen had two saves each and Garrett and Madson had a hold each. The RBIs took wins, ERA and WHIP thanks to very impressive weeks from Severino, Newcomb, Price and Clevinger.
There wasn’t an offensive sweep here, but the Slugs defeated the Knights 8-4. Nimmo led the team with five runs and homered twice, as did Soto, who also knocked in four. Skaggs and Keuchel picked up wins without allowing any earned runs while Heaney led the staff with 10 strikeouts. Teoscar Hernandez hit .350 for the Knights while Trea Turner swiped two bases. Hand had a pair of saves while Jeffress and Parker had a hold each.

Finally, in the tightest matchup of the week, the A&E Dept squeezed past the Bombers 6-5. Hamilton stole three bases for Beckenham, but it was on the mound where they sealed their win. Carrasco (now on the DL) had a win and 13 strikeouts and combined with Stripling, who also picked up a win and helped take ERA, to make the difference in WHIP. Diaz had four saves. The Bombers lived up to their name offensively as Correa led by example. He scored eight, hit three homers and drove in eight, all while batting .360. Bradley had two holds.
