British Baseball Bulletin

by Matt Smith

With pitchers and catchers set to report to their Spring Training camps on Wednesday, it would be no surprise if the upcoming MLB season is at the forefront of your mind.  It certainly is for me!

But amid the excitement, don’t forget that baseball is played in Britain as well.  The British National League gets underway a couple of weeks after the MLB season starts, with opening day scheduled for 13 April.  The latest edition of the British Baseball Bulletin was published today.  Among the many news items, the Bulletin includes a wealth of statistics from the 2007 regular season as well as an interesting article by Joe Gray (BBF Southern Scorers’ Commissioner) uncovering who had the best batting season in the National League South over the past five years.  Well worth a read.
