Four playoff places have now been clinched in the BaseballGB league. So while the other teams battle for 5th and 6th place and a shot at winning the overall title, the top four will be scrapping to see if they can finish in the top two and get a bye into the playoff semi-finals.

My Isotopes picked up a 7-3 win over the Angels thanks to another big week from Ryan Howard and the pitching of Nathan and Cain. The trio of Papelbon, new Angel Kazmir and Derek Lowe were the best of the Angels.

The ‘Cuse picked up a convincing 9-1 win over the Bats, who had a poor week at the plate. Aardsma and Burnett were the pick of the Bats’ pitchers, while the red-hot Kendry Morales and Aramis Ramirez led the ‘Cuse’s hitters. Gallardo’s pitching also helped The Orange.

There was some excellent pitching in the matchup between the Stuff and the Chasers. The Stuff ran out 7-4 winners after taking five out of six hitting categories thanks to Torii Hunter and also took saves and Ks thanks to Haren, Wandy Rodriguez and Baker. Konerko was the Chasers’ best hitter while Grienke led a pitching staff which put up an incredible WHIP of 0.66 to go with an ERA of 1.13.

The two cellar dwellers played out a 5-5 tie. Kershaw and Fukudome were the best Warfare players, while JD Drew and Joel Piniero were the top performers for the Gas.
Â
SWAT lead the table, followed by my Isotopes. The ‘Cuse and Stuff will also be playing playoff fantasy baseball.
Â
The Chasers and Angels currently occupy the final two playoff places, but there is still time for the Giants, Bats, and Bonestalkers to make a late run. The Typos, Whos and Bangers are outside shots at the moment.
Â
The fixtures see SWAT take on my Isoptopes, while the Angels face the Whos and Bonestalkers take on the Chasers.

I’m just excited right now about the prospect of finishing outside the bottom three.
I was pleasanly surprised with the final result of my match-up as the Chasers were getting hammered for much of the week. A 7-4 loss wasn’t too bad in the end. I’m just about hanging on to a playoff spot, but it’s going to be close.
i have really enjoyed playing in this league
Stoopid Fantasy Baseball.
I will, of course, be back next year!

Well despite being the best of the cellar dwellers. I can’t believe how much I’ve enjoyed this season. Roll on next year!!!!!!!
I’ve certainly enjoyed it as well. Definitely something to be repeated in 2010.
