What a first week for the two finalists, locked in a 5-5 tie at the halfway point. The Stuff have pitched well, leading in wins, saves, Ks and ERA with Trevor Hoffman the pick of the arms. The bats are leading in homers thanks to A-Rod. SWAT have driven in more runs and hit for higher average and OPS thanks to Miguel Cabrera and Choo . The bullpen leads in holds thanks to Affeldt and Hawkins while Kuroda, Jurrjens and Tim Hudson have kept SWAT’s ERA down.

My Isotopes are in a strong position, holding a 7-3 lead over the Angels. The Isotope offense has been carried by Ryan Howard (14 RBIs) while Matt Cain and the bullpen have helped build up healthy leads in Ks and saves. The Angels have had nice weeks from Quentin and Derrek Lee, while Joe Saunders has been the pick of the pitchers so far.

The Bats also hold a 7-3 lead over the Giants in the consolation final, although quite a few of the categories are still up for grabs. The Bats have had good hitting from all of the lineup, particulatly Furcal and Span. Burnett and Soria have led a pitching staff which leads in four of six categories. The Giants have had nice power from Fielder and Verlander has been in good form, but need the rest of the lineup to pick things up.

In the battle for 11th, the Bangers hold a 6-5 lead over the Whos at the halfway stage but quite a few categories are still up for grabs. The Whos are well ahead in runs and have hit well thanks to Adrian Gonzalez, Yunel Escobar and Jack Cust, but aside from Blanton it has been a tough week for the pitching staff. The Bangers have had power and speed from Tulowitzki plus some great pitching from Wainwright, Zambrano, Happ and Jackson.

I’ll be back with the last roundup of the fantasy season next week when we will find out which team will be crowned champions.
The final couldn’t be more perfectly poised heading into the last week. SWAT will be cursing Hiroki Kuroda’s start against the Pirates today though.
i have really enjoyed playing in this league I hope it will be back next season. hopefully my angels can make a comeback this week
I can assure you SWAT will definitely not be alone in cursing the Dodgers’ performance!
Mixed feelings for me about Kuroda’s performance – he obviously helped me in this league, but not so much in another league where I own him!
