Ffiteen early games on the final day of the 2009 regular season

For the final time in 2009, all thirty Major League teams are in action today.  Every one of the fifteen games is being played during the day in the States, meaning that we’ve got a full choice of games to follow in the British evening.  However, beware MLB.com struggling to cope with the demand, as happened last year.

The two most important games begin at 18.05 (White Sox-Tigers) and 19.10 (Royals-Twins).  If either Detroit or Minnesota wins and the other loses, the winner takes the AL Central.  If the two teams get the same result today (either both winning or both losing), they will play a single game decider on Tuesday at the Metrodome. First pitch for that potential game is a U.K. friendly 22.00 BST.  All times below are in BST.

18.05. White Sox @ Tigers – Danks (13-10), Verlander (18-9)
18.10. Astros @ Mets – Lopez (0-1), Figueroa (2-8)
18.10. Pirates @ Reds – Karstens (4-5), Bailey (7-5)
18.30. Nationals @ Braves – Martin (5-4), Hudson (2-1)
18.35. Indians @ Red Sox – Ohka (1-4), Buchholz (7-4)
18.35. Marlins @ Phillies – Johnson (15-5), Happ (12-4)
18.35. Blue Jays @Orioles – Romero (13-9), Guthrie (10-17)
18.38. Yankees @ Rays – Burnett (12-9), Davis (2-1)
19.10. Royals @ Twins – Hochevar (7-12), Pavano (13-12)
19.15. Brewers @ Cardinals – Suppan (7-12), Pineiro (15-12)
19.20. D-Backs @ Cubs – Davis (8-14), Dempster (11-8)
21.05. Angels @ A’s – Saunders (15-7), Gonzalez (0-4)
21.05. Giants @ Padres – Sanchez (8-12), Ramos (0-1)
21.10. Rockies @ Dodgers – Marquis (15-12), Padilla (11-6)
21.10. Rangers @ Mariners – Feldman (17-7), Hernandez (18-5)

Whichever game(s) you choose to follow, I hope you enjoy the final day of the 2009 regular season.

All the above games can be followed via various resources on MLB.com (Gameday, Gameday Audio and MLB.tv).  ESPN America will show White Sox-Tigers at 18.00, followed by Rockies-Dodgers at 21.00.
