MLB announces start times for opening games to the 2010 season

MLB has announced “tentative game times for the 2010 regular-season schedule”.  As noted previously, the opening weekend coincides perfectly with the Easter Bank Holiday for us.  Here’s the British Summer Time starts (subject to change …) for the opening games of all 30 MLB teams.

Sunday 4 April (Monday 5 for us)

01.05 a.m. – Yankees @ Red Sox

As always, that’s the ESPN Sunday Night game so it will be broadcast on ESPN America here, as well as being available via subscription on MLB.com.  There’s no news (or even any decent rumours) on MLB returning to free-to-air TV, I’m afraid.

Monday 5 April  (plus some in the early hours of Tuesday 6)

18.05 – Phillies @ Nationals
18.10 – Cardinals @ Reds
18.10 – Marlins @ Mets
18.35 – Dodgers @ Pirates
19.05 – Blue Jays @ Rangers
19.05 – Indians @ White Sox
19.10 – Rockies @ Brewers
21.10 – Cubs @ Braves
21.10 – Tigers @ Royals
22.10 – Padres @ D-Backs

00.05 a.m. – Giants @ Astros
03.05 a.m. – Twins @ Angels
03.07 a.m. – Mariners @ A’s

There are plenty of early games to enjoy on the Bank Holiday Monday evening.  I’m given an early reminder of one of the downsides to supporting a west coast team as the A’s don’t get their season going until gone three in the morning.  Looks like I’ll be extending my Bank Holiday weekend by booking that Tuesday off work.

Tuesday 6 April (Wednesday 7 for us)

00.10 a.m. – Orioles @ Rays

Fans of the Orioles and Rays have to wait until Tuesday/Wednesday for their seasons to get underway. Kevin Millwood versus James Shields, do you think?
