The final scheduled day of the regular season brings a host of day games, allowing British fans to watch all of the drama unfold live at a convenient hour.Â
Of the four teams still battling for a play-off place, the Mets will be first off with their game against the Marlins at 18:10, with Oliver Perez on the mound against Scott Olsen.Â
Fifty-five minutes later, the Brewers and the White Sox take to the field for their respective games. Both are in a similar situation in terms of sending a pitcher out on three days’ rest to face a late replacement starting pitcher. In Milwaukee’s case, CC Sabathia will pitch against Angel Guzman (rather than Carlos Zambrano) and the Cubs. For the White Sox, Mark Buehrle takes on former number one pick Bryan Bullington instead of the injured Cliff Lee.
The Twins won’t gain much of an advantage over Chicago as they begin their game against the Royals just five minutes later. Minnesota will send Scott Baker to the mound against Brandon Duckworth.
Although the second game of the Red Sox-Yankees double-header is the only night time contest, expect Five to show one of the above games during their broadcast, starting at 00.55.
