Yesterday’s mail contained a wonderfully generous donation to Project COBB from Jon Prescott, who umpired many British baseball games during the years after World War II when the sport was slowly regaining its feet. The donation comprised a number of programmes and other artefacts dating from 1963 to 1966. I have just finished adding these items to the Project COBB online archives so that others can benefit from Jon’s generosity:
- Programme for the Stretford Saints (1963).
- Ticket from the National Baseball League’s Consolation Cup (1963).
- Programme from a North versus South all-star game (circa 1963).
- Programme for the National Baseball Club Trophy (1964).
- Programme for the Orford Trophy (1964).
- Programme from a game between the Hull Aces and Garringtons (1965).
- Programme from a game between the East Hull Aces and Bromsgrove (1966).
- Programme for the Orford Trophy (1964).
