Hello Matt and Joe Gray! Just a quick note to say hello. Been very busy with coaching hockey and doing off season baseball stuff. Strong believer in cross training for HS athletes. My son is a goalie and makes use of a pretty quick glove. We are in the midst of our weight training phase for baseball, especially for those not playing a winter sport. Off baseball season sports help to prevent overuse injuries. I try to read the postings daily, but rarely have time to comment. Hotstove league: I love what Kenny Williams is doing with the Sox. They are getting younger while continuing to remain very strong. Knowing KW, we (Sox fans) are looking for some more activity. He is a very good GM and will keep the Sox very competitive. Wish I had time to comment more. Hope all is well with you two. I am enjoying the commentary recently. Chico

Hi Chico. Good to hear from you. Glad to see that hockey provides at least something of a diversion from the lack of baseball games.

The White Sox are going to be an interesting team because they are getting younger, yet not really by tearing the team down and rebuilding completely. So the AL Central looks like it could be wide open in 2009. I see the Sox have confirmed the signing of Dayan Viciedo. They really seem to be capitalizing on the Cuban market and it’s possible that you might have an all Cuban left-side to the infield next year, with Ramirez switching to short. Perhaps it’s more likely that Viciedo spends some time in the Minors though (he’s just 19 years old).
