Â
SWAT end the regular season on top of the table after handing my Isotopes an 8-3 loss. There wasn’t much hitting going on, but SWAT’s pitching staff of De La Rosa, Hamels and Broxton proved to be difference makers.

The Wright Stuff end the regular season on a charge with an 11-1 thrashing of the Bangers, with steals the only category they lost. A number of the Stuff’s hitters were hot, although now Pena is done for the year how will the team cope?

Â
The Chasers booked their place in the playoffs with a 6-4 win over Bonestalkers. The Chasers’ bats – led by Ian Stewart and Konerko – got the job done while Bonestalkers had plenty of good pitching but not enough offense.

Warfare and the Giants played out a 6-6 tie which sees Russ finish above .500 for the season. Carlos Guillen and Felix Hernanadez were the stars for Warfare while a strong bullpen of Valverde and Francisco helped the Giants.

| Rio Crande Typos | 23 | 6 | 24 | 4 | .216 | .641 | 2 | 1 | 24 | 2 | 4.50 | 1.30 | 4 |
Â
The Bats put on a hitting display to defeat the Typos 6-4. Longoria was clearly the player of the week for the Bats while Halladay was the Typos’ star man.
Â
The results mean first round playoff byes for SWAT and the Stuff, leaving the ‘Cuse taking on the Angels and my Isotopes facing the Chasers.
Â
The Giants just missed out on playoff fantasy baseball, with the Bats one game further back. Bonestalkers finish ninth, just ahead of the Typos and Whos, with the Gas and Warfare the Pittsburgh and Washington of the league.
Â
Hopefully the newcomers to the league will have enjoyed taking part, and even if your team did not make it through to the playoffs, you can still follow the action via the league homepage and the updates I will be writing here on BaseballGB.
Hi Mark. Let battle commence!
And don’t forget the teams who finished 7th-12th still get to take part in the Consolation Playoffs! So make sure you keep setting your line-ups this week!
