We begin with an upset as the ‘Cuse, at the top end of the standings for almost the whole season, have been knocked out by the Angels. Derrek Lee and Raul Ibanez were the Angels’ star hitters, while Ted Lilly anchored the pitching staff. The ‘Cuse had nice production from its infield, but the lack of saves and holds cost them.

In a matchup which was in a 5-5 tie before Sunday’s games, my Isotopes made it through against the Chasers, taking all six hitting categories thanks to Utley, Dunn, Ramirez and two steals from De Rosa. Matt had a nice week from Cody Ross and Javier Vazquez put up excellent numbers, but it wasn’t to be.

In the consolation playoffs, the Whos defeated the Typos 7-5, taking all six hitting categories thanks to Adrian Gonzalez, Youkilis and Rajai Davis. Joe took all but one of the pitching categories, with Thornton’s two holds for JJ making the difference.

The Bangers got the better of Bonestalkers 5-3. The Bangers’ star hitter was Lance Berkman, while Adam Wainwright was the pick of the pitching staff which did not win a single category. Vernon Wells and Victorino were Bonestalkers’ star hitters, while Sabathia, Scherzer and Beckett put up good numbers.

5th place:

Bats v Bangers

11th place:

Congratulations on your win Mark. My offense decided to take most of the week off, which was nice of them! Still, glad to see Vazquez have yet another good start on Sunday. I’ve been made to feel silly on quite a few occasions during this fantasy competition, but my pre-draft plan of wanting to get Greinke and Vazquez turned out really well. Just a shame that the Royals cost Zack more than a handful of wins.
5th place is still up for grabs though!
I certainly didn’t see Greinke being so impressive! As for Vazquez, I think he gets overlooked a bit as he flopped during his time with the Yankees, but he’s got a nice string of double-digit win seasons to his name.
