After the NHL took precedence over Wednesday night baseball during the past two weeks, it’s the NBA Finals that bump baseball (Cubs vs Dodgers) off Five’s schedule tonight.  Fortunately, there are plenty of good match-ups earlier in the evening that you can follow on MLB.com, whether you subscribe to MLB.tv, Gameday Audio,  or by using the addictive Gameday service.  The new ‘video clips’ feature that has been added to Gameday this season make it a fantastic product, particularly when you consider that it is free.

Fourteen of today’s fifteen games are early(ish) starts, so there are plenty to choose from.  I guess the hype surrounding Joba Chamberlain will make his second start a likely focal point for many.  The Yankees beat the Royals in dramatic fashion yesterday, but K.C. have Zack Greinke on the mound to steady the ship.  That game starts at 18.05 BST.  Two minutes later (give or take), Roy Halladay starts for the Blue Jays against the Orioles, while Aaron Harang pitches for the Reds against the Marlins from 18.10.  Erik Bedard tries to get something going for Seattle against Justin Masterson and the Red Sox from 18.35.  A bit later on (21.05) we have a clash between the Angels and the A’s, with Ervin Santana and Rich Harden taking the mound, as well as Pedro Martinez making his second start after his stint on the DL against the Padres. 

So, lots to look forward to this evening.
